Warren Buffett Extends Bet on Baby Boomers (and their failing kidneys) DVA

Around ten years ago a sharp young analyst gave me his five-minute kidneys and dialysis pitch. It made quite an impression on me, I remember it to this day. Unfortunately for him and his firm we were just coming off the Dotbomb crash and everything looked really cheap so I filed the idea under "stuff I'll get to".
Davita is up seven-fold since that day, $103.44 at the close. Fresenius, the largest in the industry is up ten-bagger in ten years, no lost decade there....

Berkshire Hathaway buys DaVita shares (Fox23) Warren Buffett's company now owns 14.5 percent of kidney dialysis firm DaVita Inc. (NYSE:DVA)'s stock Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A) reported its latest DaVita purchases Thursday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Buffett's Omaha-based conglomerate now owns 13.8 million shares of DaVita, which is based in Denver. Berkshire has been steadily adding to its DaVita investment since it first disclosed owning 2.7 million shares at the end of 2011. Since the start of October, Berkshire has increased its DaVita investment from 10 million shares to the current 13.8 million....
